Nitin Orayan is a social entrepreneur, educator, author and founder of Learning Space Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering rural communities through education, leadership and sustainable development. For over two decades, he has worked alongside children, teachers and communities to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire lasting social change.

The Journey

The journey began not with an organisation, but with a simple human connection. During a period of reflection in 2002, Nitin spent time in a rural village where a group of children gathered around him every evening to listen to stories and learn. Those moments revealed the transformative power of education and planted the seed for a lifelong mission.
In 2005, he moved to Ganeshpuri and began teaching village children, building trust within the community and creating learning opportunities where few existed. What started as a small educational initiative gradually evolved into a broader movement for community development.

Learning Space Foundation

In 2006, this vision took shape as Learning Space Foundation, founded with the goal of creating joyful, inclusive and sustainable learning environments. Since then, the organisation has grown into a platform for education, teacher development, youth leadership and community transformation, touching thousands of lives across Maharashtra.

Continuing the Mission

Today, Nitin Orayan continues to lead initiatives in education, teacher development, youth leadership, CSR partnerships and community transformation. Through his books, public speaking, articles and collaborative social initiatives, he continues to inspire individuals and organisations to create meaningful and sustainable change.
His mission remains unchanged—to empower people through education, compassion and conscious action.

Latest Achievements

Strengthening Leadership Through the IICA CSR Professional Course

We are delighted to share that Mr. Nitin Orayan, Founder of Learning Space Foundation, has successfully completed the Year-long CSR Professional Course (July 2025 – April 2026) conducted by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. At the Convocation Ceremony held on 17 July 2026 at the JW Marriott, New Delhi, he received the course completion certificate in the presence of Prof. Garima Dadich, Head, School of Business Environment, IICA. The programme provided valuable knowledge of India's CSR framework, corporate engagement, project design, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainable social development practices. This achievement further strengthens Learning Space Foundation's commitment to building impactful CSR partnerships and implementing transparent, sustainable initiatives that create meaningful change in communities.

Best Women's Hygiene Project
of the Year 2023

Learning Space Foundation (LSF) won the best project award for its 'SafeSpace' Girls' Restroom & Sanitation for Rural schools in the category of 'Best Women's Hygiene Project' - the award was presented by the Brand Honchos Group Indian CSR Awards to the Founder at LSF, Shri Nitin Orayan on 7th October evening at Hyatt Centric Hotel New Delhi. We appeal to the large community of donors and NGOs working in the field of rural school sanitation and menstrual hygiene support to come forward and adopt this very useful project and implement it in many States and districts throughout the country. Our research in this field has proven results showing that over 90% adolescent school girls in remote rural areas drop out of school or severely lose out on education due to inadequate restroom sanitation facility, so step forward and support the 'Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao' work through this project.
